What stood out to you the most in this podcast? 

This podcast speaks about 86% of refugees being contained in the Global South. That this narrative that the West is at the frontline of the refugee crisis, is flawed and we infact are not bearing our fair share of the burden. At what stage do you believe that the biggest change needs to happen with regards to Climate migration? The beginning I.e. push factors? The middle I.e. safer passage etc.? The end I.e. appropriate integration into societies (rehousing, schooling, social supports etc) 

How do you view your individual contribution to the Climate Change Crisis.  

The emergence of “new left” (Green and radical left) parties radically altered women’s representation on the left, with research finding that these parties in particular promote gender equality as a core part of their ideology (Keith and Verge 2018).' What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe that in an effort to gain more voters, these 'Mannerparteien' may go a step further and adjust their ideologies? 
 

Using recent various female political figures as examples, how do you see this use of the female figure playing out across the West? 

There has been a lot of conversation surrounding the upcoming visit to the White House for St Patricks Day. Public criticism has erupted calling for the Irish government to scrap its diplomatic efforts with the US government who are infamously backing the Israeli military. Michael Martin however is maintaining that efforts to persuade the US government to withdraw are best achieved through conversation and engagement. What do you think? Is boycotting powerful? Is it better to maintain pleasantries and try to change leaders minds through collaboration and negotiation? 

Niamh speaks about the importance of being critical of the SDG's whilst not 'throwing them out'. The conversation moves onto the great paradox that exists within the SDGs; That is, striving for economic growth whilst attempting to achieve environmental sustainability (contrasting 'sustainable' and 'development') Where do you think the balance is in all of these factors? Is there a balance that can be struck? How critical should we be of current environmental efforts and what is the alternative?
