Also I tend to target these students with a question each lesson and go to them first when I set a task. These students also receive targeted questions at the "higher" end of the taxonomy each lesson and through written comments. I use these for mid-high level too. The Bronze, Silver, Gold strategy helps to focus these students to "move on to more challenging work more quickly" whilst individual conversations during a lesson can prompt questions to illicit higher levels of response.
