While English is narrowly related to music (in terms of English compositions and lyrics), it's still a very different career path than what the typical English major would go for. As music is one of my passions and hobbies, I will always keep this career option open for myself. I know that a writing degree will greatly strengthen my ability to write meaningful lyrics that go along with my music too, so I have no issues going to school in such a versatile field such as English.

I will never accept that I "can't" do something; at a recent job interview, I was given a scenario to hypothetically solve, and I was unsure of the exact terminology and where to start. I told the interviewer that at that moment, I didn't know the answer, but that with the right resources I would be able to solve it with no issues. There is nothing that I can't learn how to do, education is a life-long path.
