I am a Professor of Food Technology at the School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and current Director of Centre for Academic Excellence (CDAE), USM.

I've been teaching for almost 24 years. I'm very passionate about learning and education. I believe our role as educators goes beyond transmitting knowledge — our role is to nurture our students, the future nation builders, to become lifelong learners — to teach them the skills of 'learn how to learn' and to teach them the appreciation and the love for knowledge. 

As Socrates said, I cannot teach anybody anything; I can only make them think.

It has been my ambition or dream to write a book about research methodology and about my field of specialisation ever since I started my PhD 6 years back. I have been given opportunities but suddenly I am stumped for ideas!

By the way, my field of specialisation is industrial wastewater treatment and fate and transport of nano pollutants. 

I don't know where to start.  The main topic is there. But then ideas of subtopics jumbles up together in a knot, giving me writer's block! 

Just like everyone I am sure we are all trying our best juggling several things at one go and maintaining a balance. How do we manage to organise  our thinking about writing despite our hectic schedule? How do we keep the energy level and motivation at a constant rate?

I love writing. I started only at 40 years old but have published 9 books (and a few more book chapters) in 4-5 years after that. Two more (by Penerbit USM & MPH) are coming out middle of this month. My kids are also writers and free illustrators for me. However, they are all physical books. Distribution is normally slow & I have many unsold copies in my house too (till my hubby ask to buy another house just to store the copies!). Therefore, I am exploring another way of marketing them.
