Abby and Illana, the creators of the show, started out their show as a web series. They would make short, video sketches about their lives as young people in New York. As I venture more into writing and creating new work, Broad City has really inspired me to explore what a web series created by myself might look like! When I was 8 years old, my parents got me my first Ipod. It was an Ipod nano and my dad had already loaded so many albums on it, one of them being "The Immaculate Collection: Madonna." So, this was the first album that I truly memorized from every direction. Music plays a large role in my identity as an artist. I believe music is unifying, it is awakening, and important for artists. I feel like my college audition process for UT is different since I was a transfer and I really want to experience what it's like to audition for multiple schools. I would love to pursue acting in NY, especially at a school like NYU. I'm still not sure which programs I am interested in but I know that an MFA is something I strongly desire. Sondheim and Lapine and Rodgers and Hammerstein are two examples of pairs that have created amazing works. Collaboration is essential to art, especially when you are looking to share or produce it.
