I would use this strategy in social studies, teaching patriotic symbols and significant landmarks.
The students would go on a virtual field trip of Statue of Liberty. I would also show the model of Statue of Liberty and ask students to tell me what they already know about it.
They would then cut out paper and measure the actual length of foot of Statue of Liberty.
They would also fill out reflection sheet with 3 things they learned that day.
UDL:
Interdisciplinary approach (social studies and math).
Assignment options: students can write or choose drawing or other form expressing their thoughts.

I would use the "peer buddies" strategy to enhance a social skills lesson for students. The lesson would be student driven and they would explore the nature of given disabilities. We would speak to individuals with disabilities, read about different types of disabilities, watch movies about people with disabilities--all this to provide variety in modes of learning. Students will use their new understanding to become better at socializing with peers.
