My takeaway is that our students need us to model equity and accountability in the classroom , we can do this by honoring their unique experiences, and we must actively unlearn our biases against others and against ourselves on a daily basis to better show up for our students.

1. Unlearning needs to be done! It does not matter what your positionality is, always be curious and challenge your way of thinking.
2. Allies should NOT be showing up in the spaces composed. Whether it affects you directly or not, you should care and be angry!
3. Oppressions will occur in the classrooms. We should not take it as a sign of failure but if we do not respond to it and challenge it, then that's a failure. Calling out privilege in the class will help students grow and be better supports to each other.

i think modeling accountability and equity in the classroom can definitely be applied to the classroom! and we also need to have space in our classrooms for students to process grief, sadness, other hard emotions/conversations because they will inevitably appear in their daily lives.
