She goes into a panic, only after a little while leaving the room. She goes on to call Robin, who starts talking about the attacks, but she tells him about her getting attacked. Afterwards, she goes on to check out her apartment, believing someone or something somehow had gotten into her apartment, when she finds a black cloth under one of her chairs. She does not know who has done it, maybe it is the Carl's hand.  She tweets about the attacks and how sad she is, but that is not how April really feels. She attends her brothers wedding, and a rehearsal dinner for the wedding. While she is at the wedding, the news break, that the dream is spreading from person to person like an infection. April also spends a lot of time talking and resenting the Defenders. In this chapter, April also connects with Maya, because she suspects that Maya is the Purleterian, who solves a lot of puzzles in the dream. April also hires a editor, because she is working on her book. She ends up publishing her book as well. After the book is published, April attends a book tour, talking about her book. At one of the places she is asked, what the strangest thing that occurred to her in the dream is, and April tells about the flying airplane, which she sees at the edge of the city. Nobody else has seen this. But at the tour, a defender also confronts her, and everything becomes chaos, so the rest of the tour gets cancelled.

Also in front of April’s apartment in New York. April wants to go down there and record a video to condemn the attacks and to remind people that it was done by a few evil humans and not the Carls. Andy and the security guard try to talk her out of it, because they believe it is too dangerous. However, she is determined to get it done, and goes out there anyways. April and Andy almost finish filming the video, before a bystander stabs April with a stanley knife. April does not die and is rushed to the hospital by the paramedics. Don't worry, I'm not actually dead, but someone definitely tried to shoot me through the window. And yes, I am fine, I didn't get hit or anything. 

Andy:
What?! Have you called the police yet? You need to get out of your apartment, I am on my way, we can meet in the lobby.

April: 
No no, I'm fine Andy, really! The bullet didn't even come near me, thankfully. And I can't leave right now. 

Andy:
April, someone tried to kill you, you need to call the police and get out of your apartment! 

April:
Well, I cant. 

Andy:
What do you mean you can't?! Did you actually get hit, and need help getting out. April what is going on?!

April:
I'm sorry Andy, but I can't tell you, just trust me when I say that it is important that I stay here. 

Andy:
April, what the hell are you talking about?! What in the world could be important enough for you to stay there when somebody just tried to shot you?!

Andy:
April! Answer me!

The hand is laying on the floor with shattered glass around it. She is unsure if it is alive, so she feels the hand and finds the touch slightly warm which indicates that the hand might still be alive. Realising this, she tries to communicate with the hand by asking questions. She asks a lot of questions, some getting unanswered. The one thing that the hand makes clear, is that April could not in any way tell that the event has occurred.
