Year 2 have begun to understand what it takes to be a good friend. We have been talking about the qualities that we possess that make us a nice person. We drew a class hand and suggested nice traits, such as kindness, sharing, taking turns and caring. We then drew around our own hand and wrote a quality we would like to have on each finger.

We have been talking, sharing and deciding about when it is okay to reply to questions asked of us with these responses. When and why should we tell? What has happened that should make us share it? When do we need to ask, why is it polite to ask? Is saying yes or no the correct thing to do at some points? Should we agree or disagree to do everything? Do we need to double check with an 'I'll ask'?.

Sometimes our friends might not know what to do or say to us when they are seeing us change from one mood to another and sometimes we may have to learn to separate feelings. This might mean taking some time to calm down in a quiet place or remembering the happier times we have felt in the past.

In our lesson we looked at moods and colours and which could be associated with one another.
