Blacks were seen as intelectualy inferiors however the character Othello disproves this. Othello was strong and he was genuine and a good leader and comparing OJ Simpson case he is a celebrity and he is black and he got the attention of America

Baraka compares O.J Simpson to Othello because both men had everything they could have ever wanted and in the end their actions cased their own downfall. Today we see many celebrities who ultimatly have the same outcome more (males than females), when people become celebrities the money they have goes to their head and they do things that lead to them loosing everything.

For example, Othello suffered discrimination while he was with Desdemona, but he kept showing love and show how much he cared about her.
In the "Othello Jr." he is trying to say that all kind of people deserve the same treatment and opportunity. he compares O. J. Simpson with Othello which both was accused of murdering. (black people committing crime).

The message that Baraka is trying to approach is that African American are been treated different , they seen as an object and that something that people don't want to go through and feel like. They seen as animals because most of the people they are near are kind of different. But being different is the best thing because you are unique. Some people could think that Baraka and Shakespeare are being racist but they are not , they are just trying to express the treatment that the African American goes through and the way they feel. Overall Black celebrities in America today have more voice in power because the whole world knows that we all the same. We all Human Being! -Ashley

Probably the biggest message by this Baraka's poem is that people of color will continually be target. But African Americans celebrities are always targeted and expected to fail and act in ways that are not safe to influence the kids for example today artists like Kevin Gates and Chris Brown are always being suspect for crimes. Due to the fact they have some power in the society.

there whole lives can easily be ruined by a simple rumor and action they do, if they are lucky enough they can still carry on their legacy or end up in a tragic downfall, in OJ's case he fell off right after the whole court and him being found not guilty EVERYONE knew he did it so they just stopped being fans of him and shun him

Baraka's message to his reader about the treatment of Black celebrities in America today is that they are treated differently in a bad way based on their darker skin color and they are not really comfortable on their own skin to be themselves. In addition, white people would be afraid to walk by black people because they were being seen as minorities(less than everyone else) and criticized of their looks.
