Our departing principal and teachers had years of PYP experience and a tremendous sense of commitment to the PYP. Our new staff have limited (or no) PYP experience and their sense of commitment is unknown.

I’m also concerned that commitment to the PYP among staff members may now be diminished since our next evaluation is more than four years away.

I would also like to make our exhibition a journey that begins early in the school year, rather than something we focus on for only two or three months. Involving our parents as more active participants in the PYP is another goal.

By detailing each layer of support and identifying suggested areas of focus for each, it demonstrates that each component is just as important as the others. Each component is a necessary piece to include to create a true community with the IB focus.
