What is your topic, and why did you choose it?
My topic is "Starting the School". I picked this topic because I feel that the first weeks and months of a school year are hard on both teachers and students and more resources should be shared. I also picked this topic because as an intern, we don't see all the hard work teachers put in at the beginning for us to see the students so behave once we enter during the middle.
Why is this topic important to teach?
This topic is important to teach because the way the school year starts can have an effect on how the rest of the school year goes. Starting the year with clear instructions shows a lot to guardians and students who are not used to this environment. And as new teachers, having kids that have never been in a school setting can be difficult so having any source of support is very effective.
How would you teach this topic in your future classroom?
I would teach this topic by using the 1st day as a lesson. Right when students enter the class on the first day, learning starts. Learning starts by knowing where you put your belongs and how to come in and sit in your proper seat.

1. How can we get students on board before the first day of school?
2. Should discipline take place within the first weeks, knowing that students are adjusting? What types?
