From my observation of Danny sprinting it was clear that he needed to stable his trunk and keep his head up right while sprinting. We worked on this over the previous two weeks until I was happy with how he was performing which was just into the second week. I found Danny great to listen and take on any advice given to him
<sup>

Athlete
From my coaches point of view there was a lot to work on. It was clear that I was not keeping my head and trunk upright and stable while sprinting. Therefore, my coach and I worked on stabilizing my head and trunk while sprinting. Colin was excellent in delivering coaching cues to improve my performance. The assisted hard post exercise really helped me to understand the importance of stabilizing my head and trunk. This was crucial to the progression of my sprinting technique.

As I was happy with how we progressed over the previous two weeks we moved onto the next element which needed altering which was high knees. Once Danny noticed his knees were not high while running and after practicing the drills we done, I found it came natural to him when practicing his sprints. I hope he can stay the same in the future.

Athlete
Once my coach pointed out that I wasn’t achieving high knees while I was sprinting we devised an plan to rectify this problem. By working on my high knees I was able to improve my sprinting technique. This was critical in relation to improving my sprint technique as it essential to drive the knees high while sprinting to increase stride length as my coach explained to me.

I decided to delegate some responsibility to Danny these weeks by choosing what drills he thought would best suit him to improve his arm movements while running. I found the drills Danny choose to be very effective in terms of having his elbow bent at 45 degrees while running to improve efficiency. However I felt that it took us the full two weeks to get Danny's arm movements right here as while practicing the angle at the elbow kept expanding but however we got there in the end and were happy to progress on.

Athlete
From my coaches point of view it was clear that I hadn’t demonstrated correct arm movement while sprinting. He explained the significance of arm movement before implementing a drill to improve my arm movement during the sprint. The ‘hip to lip’ teaching cue I found very helpful as it implied the desired arm movement of 90 degrees. This teaching cue was very effective in developing my arm movement as a sprinter.

These were our final two weeks of our plan and everything had gone to plan so far so we were happy to progress again. From my perspective I found these weeks a bit up and down. Danny got the hang of the a+b skip right away but putting it into practice proved tough. But with constant effort and determination Danny put it all together to perform the perfect sprint technique there is. As a coach I am delighted with how Danny progressed throughout this 8 week block and he is a great student.
<sup>
Athlete
Overall I was very happy with the end product of my coaches performance. I felt I was able to demonstrate a relatively good sprinting technique that was much improved from the first performance. By rectifying the issues that were prevalent in my initial sprint it helped me become a better sprinter in terms of technical performance and I also felt a lot more comfortable in demonstrating correct sprinting technique.
