the concept of repetition is something very basic and very important to the world of music, repetition is something we as humans do in hopes of something new occurring so in the music scene repetition is used to make things flow or repeat in a more upbeat sense. its used almost as a way to keep the rhythm in check. I completely agree with Ratliff's arguments, the first big point he makes is this repetition helps keep us in an on going process in our daily lives, next he says repetition is a way to make you focus on all that is nonrepetitive. meaning that as the music changes we stay put.
