Given it's large immigrant population there are many smaller groups that practice Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism amongst others. 
However, according to my research, whilst people are free to worship, it is discouraged to openly show any signs of religious following, for example of you wear a cross, you should keep it hidden under your shirt.

The French do happen to love baguettes, their local cheeses and wines which vary by region. Each region will have their own variety of wine and cheese and will proudly announce it to any and all visitors.  

The French don't usually have a large sit down breakfast like the Americans do, preferring instead to grab a pastry on their way to work.  
Lunch is the biggest meal of the day and stores usually close between 12pm and 2pm to allow for the lunch break. The only places remaining open are restaurants but they will close shortly after 2pm.

Once a child starts school , they remain in fulltime education until the age of 18. 
College/University is strongly encouraged but unlike the United States, the arts are not encouraged.
The French educational system is highly focused on the academics such as Math, Science, and Economics.

It is highly encouraged for parents to work.
