This tells the story of his first invention when he was still just a boy and gives insight into the man he would become. Today I read First Snow by Peter McCarty. This adorable book written for young children tells the story of Pedro who is visiting his family and experiencing snow for the very first time. This is something I can totally relate to, because I didn't see snow myself until I was 10 years old. It's the story of an imaginary friend who sets off in search of a child to be his very special chosen friend. It is so creative and funny! Can you imagine how a panda bear & a sneeze could break the ocean? I couldn't either until I read Chu's Day at the Beach. I know my kindergartners will enjoy this book next year when I share it with them.
