In the code of Hammurabi introduced laws that would bring requirements of justice such as paying fines for property damage and punishments for crimes committed by someone. Moreover, the Magna Carta provide and guarantees the rights of justice and fair trial. However, Thomas Hobbes brought up the social contract theory, which supported the idea of absolute sovereign without giving any value or rights to the individuals. on the other hand John Locke believed that the individuals have the right to overthrow their government if it was abusing power or its citizens. The Mayflower Compact establish basic law and order in the colony, which help colonist gain the view point that they could build a functional government without the need of a monarch. The English Bill of the Rights states that monarchy could not rule without consent of parliament as well as the Baron of Montesquieu says that government power should be limited. In addition, the Rule of Law help us to maintain control over the power used in government in making sure laws are fair and no one can be above them including the president and the government itself.
