Athena is the daughter of Zeus, the god of lighting, and Metis, a nymph. She received her title of a warrior when she adapted to Greek economy which was mainly centered around the military. There were many rumors going around about how she was born. They said that Zeus had Athena "without a mother and emerged full-grown from his forehead" but others say that Zeus swallowed Metis while she was pregnant. In a confrontation with Posiedon, he offered a hose, and Athena offered an olive tree. The citizens of the area which would come to be known as athens. Named after Athena, favored her tree instead. She also became the patron goddess of Athens which shows how influential she was in that lifetime.

Athena represents the civil and heroic aspect of war. She is the peacekeeper of ancient Greece. She uses her wisdom in battles in a way to persuade the other side. She favors advances of society past a state of war and rather the intellectual and rebuilding aspects. Athena was on the technical side of warfare and spent time strategizing instead of rushing into battle.
