Muslims worship usually by praying and worshiping Allah, this can be done inside or outside of the Mosque but you always have to be facing in the direction of Mecca. When Muslims go to the Mosque they usually go there and pray on their own unlike other Churches. Also, Muslims are suppose to worship by following the five pillars of faith , which are: faith in Muhammad, having daily prayers, donating to the poor, fasting, and the pilgrimage to Mecca. The Sacred Text of Islam is the Quran, the Quran was conveyed entirely by Muhammad. There are some smaller Sacred Text to Islam, as in, The Sunna, and the Hadith.

Most of the discrimination in Qatar is mainly aimed at the unskilled South Asian workers. There are many foreign workers, working in Qatar, and they make up lots of the population. Qatar has tried to keep them from influencing there culture so they made it very hard for foreigners to become citizens and there are restrictions legally and socially. Not all the South Asian workers are unskilled and some of them are actually very skilled workers.

A very big event going on in Qatar now is that people are debating whether or not Qatar should be able to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. People think that such a small country in the summer heat should be able to host the World Cup. I think this ties into our unit because this has to do with Culture. Having the world cup every four years is a tradition that the world has held and celebrated for a while. This has to do with popular culture too because I think that holding the world cup in big venues and multiple stadiums required for this is pop culture since these are western ideas and big intricate stadiums, and lots of planning and money that have to go into this. The world cup in general I think has to do with our unit since it brings everyone together, where we sometimes use a lingua franca, so we can all communicate together.
