I think that the day of the dead is a very recreative and not usual day, most of the holidays are about commemorate important persons who did something important for our country, or maybe about an independence day. But this is about celebrating something that is “bad” and sad, with a lot of happiness! On this date people get dress as colorful skeletons and all together they go to the cemetery.
