2. The main character of Warriors: Midnight is Stormfur, who is described as a “dark grey tom with amber eyes” on page four of the allegiances section. He can be seen on the second edition cover, which is seen above. Though not one of the prophesied characters, Stormfur tagged along for the adventure so that he could protect his sister Feathertail. He has a good sense of humor, and a good sense of justice once he thinks it through.

Leafpaw, the main character for the side story, is described as a “Light brown tabby she-cat with amber eyes and white paws” on page one of the allegiances section. She serves as a medicine cat apprentice for Thunderclan. She is a caring cat who will ignore clan borders to save a person in need. She is troubled knowing the whereabouts of the prophesied cats, who everyone sees as missing.

3. The theme of this story is that when faced with difficult trials, friends will always be there to help. Stormfur was not confident he could face Sabertooth alone, but once his friends came to help him they easily took him out. The theme is important because it shows readers that even if a difficult situation arises, as long as you have a good friend, you can push through it.

4. Warriors: Midnight takes advantage of many literary devices. For example, page 277 uses a symbol, stating, “She hardly knew how to load more trouble onto Firestar's shoulders, when he had so much to bear already.” While Firestar does not have a literal load on his shoulders, it implies that he has a lot to deal with. Another literary device used is personification. Page 191 says “A terrible shrieking broke out in the cave, slicing through the sound of rain pattering around them and even the noise of the falls.” Sound cannot slice something (At least through normal means), which means that personification is being used. Another symbol used can be found on page 272, where it says, “Crowpaw turned his head, a terrible blank look in his eyes.” The term ‘blank look’ is used to symbolize that the person is not all there and that they likely just witnessed something traumatic or disheartening.

5. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like imagining their own world, as with the descriptive language used in the book, it is easy to imagine the environments while still leaving them up to reader interpretation. I would also 100% recommend this book to those who have read the first book in this series. If you do not like cats, then this book is not for you, but it is hard not to recommend it to anyone else.

The overall theme is similar to a war story interwoven with adventure and fantasy. It is important as it adds to the mystical sense of the book.

The author Mr. Sapkowski doesn't use many symbols, to me it seems he prefers to make it seem more real than fantasy.

Only people 16+ should really read the witcher. It has profanity and questionable scenes. But then again Mr. Sapkowski had wanted his books to feel as real as possible, While keeping the fantasy.

This book mainly talks about a woman named Hester who is constantly shamed and of committing adultery, she has a daughter named Pearl. Pearl has a father but doesn't know who it is. Hester in the other hand knows who the father is but doesn't want to tell anyone who it. The fathers name later being revealed to be the loved minister of the town arthur. He suffers from depression and illnesses. Pearl in the other had becomes rich from an inheritance after knowing her father is the minister.

2. Two characters:

   Hester is the woman who committed adultery. She is Pearl's mother and Roger's wife. She wears a capital A on her chest, symbolizing her sin. black hair, tall, and has a red shirt most of the time.

Roger is the long-lost husband of Hester and is dying for revenge but never really accomplishes it. He later dies from depression and anger for failing to do his mission. He has blond hair and blue eyes and mostly has an angry face.

3. Theme

The theme of this book is the guilt and depression these characters have to face. its more of a dark and gloomy theme and how the characters face their problems with pain and suffering. The theme is for of a revenge and justice type of theme were you will have to pay for every wrong done.

4. Symbols

One most notable symbol used throughout the whole book is the Letter A which is the scarlet letter.

Chillingworth's worth was compared to a leach which has been shown in the book 2 to 3 times, showing how hated Chillingworth is.

Arthur's guilt was like a poison shown in the book once. one reason it was because it was the main scores of his illness which is his guilt and sorrow.

5. Thoughts and recommendations

This book is very interesting as it delves down into peoples thoughts and guilts and their sins and what they did to recover from such. its like a motivation but thats just what i think. This book is not family friendly as they use lots of bad word. this book it a definition of Dark love. I recommend you read this book.

Character 1: Ben Ripley

Ben is the main character, and the story is told from his perspective. Though he wasn't a very good spy when he came to Spy School, in Goes Wild, Ben is a skilled spy and has learned many survival techniques. His nemesis is Murray Hill, and Ben has been trying to stop Murray since book one. Ben has defeated two evil organizations, SPYDER and the Croatoan, and he stopped two solo criminals, Leo and Shayla Shang. Because Ben stopped Leo and Shayla, Leo's brother Rufus wanted revenge on Ben and Murray. More information can be found in the summary.

Character 2: Murray Hill

Murray is Ben's nemesis. He has been captured four times, but has escaped every time. Murray hates Ben because Ben was the one who captured Murray every time. Murray has tried to recruit Ben, has locked him in a room with a ticking bomb, has started an internet conspiracy about him, sent assassins after him, and Ben survived it all. In Goes Wild, Murray delivers Ben to Rufus Shang for $5 Million, but Murray gets betrayed by the principal, and the principle gets the $5 Million while Murray is captured along with Ben.

Theme: The overall theme of the book Spy School Goes Wild is that evil never pays. No matter what, even when the odds are stacked against them, Ben and his team always stop the criminals and prevent their evil plots from working. This is important because that is the theme of every Spy School book, and without that theme, there would be no story, and thus, no series.

Example 1: "Soren yanked Murray to his feet as easily as someone might have picked up a bag of potato chips. (Gibbs 70)." This is a simile that describes how strong Soren is by comparing the ease of lifting a human to the ease of lifting a bag of chips.

Example 2: "'I toyed with simply killing both of you... in the same way that I would kill some other bloodthirsty beast, like a sloth or a manatee. (Gibbs 78)." This is a metaphor Rufus is using to describe how he would kill Ben and Murray. The irony is that the two example animals he gave are not bloodthirsty, nor are they beasts; instead, sloths and manatees are both docile vegetarians.

Example 3: "Soren now looked like some sort of horrifying minotaur-esque creature, with... the fashion sense of a color-blind baboon." This imagery helps the reader picture what Soren looks like after Ben puts a taxidermied bull's head on Soren. It also helps the reader imagine the lack of color coordination among Soren's clothes.

Recommendation: I highly recommend this book to kids and adults. A minimum age would probably be 11 or 12, but there is no maximum age. This book is funny, fast-paced, and has a very engaging story. It is very hard to put down!

Characters

Piper McCloud

Depicted on the cover of book, Piper McCloud is a kind hearted girl who tries as hard as she is able in the circumstances she endures. Always one to help another, charismatic, and bringing the others happiness, Piper desires to simply be happy with her friends and the unusual creatures to be liberated from their suffering. She believes in doing the right thing, and would do anything for those she cares for.

Conrad Harrington III

Perfectly even features and blond hair, Conrad has been living in I.N.S.A.N.E. for years, attempting to outsmart Dr. Hellion. His ability is his intelligence; a brilliant genius, Conrad is able to figure out many complicated matters in moments. However, he knows his plan to escape I.N.S.A.N.E. requires a flyer to carry them out; and Piper McCloud offers her positive spirit and charisma to Conrad's genius. The two are very good friends upon their escape from I.N.S.AN.E. and live together afterwards, and Conrad is truly happy for the first time in many long years.

The Theme

To be yourself, and defy what others may do to prevent you from doing so. Despite the fact if you are different, you should always be yourself, even if others disapprove, or wish you were normal. This applies to the world greatly; all too often we feel as if we need to be as everyone else is, when that is not how we are; and if others try to say that we should not be, then we should instead defy them and do so anyway, for that is who we are, though they may not like us to be that way.

Symbols, Images, Metaphors, Similes and Personifications

The fact that Piper can fly; flying is freedom in itself, and she brings the happiness and liberation that embodies this with her wherever she may go.

The wooden bird that her Father gives her before she goes to I.N.S.A.N.E. represents freedom as well, and relates her to the bird. It also shows he does love and accept her.

Piper has an "itch" that she cannot scratch; she does not always know she can fly, and this is telling her she feels as though something is amiss in herself.

Should one not or should one read this book?

I believe The Girl Who Could Fly holds very important lessons within it, and we could learn from this very well. I think anyone should read it, though particularly those who do not feel as though they can be themselves, or are truly different and struggle with this at times. It is a wonderful story, humorous and veracious, and demonstrates a variety of important principles.

Characters:

Sam Gribley is a boy who desires nothing more than the freedom to do what he wants when he wants. His dreams soon become a reality when he runs away to the Catskill Mountains, where his great-grandfather owned acres of land. He struggles through the harsh climate of the forest and tries to find food during the winter, but thankfully he has friends to help him.

Bando, a college professor from the town of Catskills, wanders into the forest and gets lost. He discovers Sam's small campsite and decides to wait there in case someone returns. When Sam comes back, they talk for a while and enjoy dinner in his tree house. Bando promises not to tell anyone about Sam and says he will visit during Christmas break to check on Sam.

The overall theme of this book revolves around Sam's experiences and interactions with people and nature. As Sam survives in the forest, he gains maturity and an understanding of how life works, finding a balance between human and forest life. The author includes various illustrations of how Sam made traps to catch animals and picked different flowers and herbs to prepare meals.

This book imparts valuable life lessons, showing readers that achieving your desires requires hard work. You will never attain what you want by simply waiting around. This is exemplified when Sam Gribley leaves behind his entire life with his family to pursue his dream in the Catskill Mountains. Ultimately, it inspires readers to take action toward their own dreams and aspirations.

Character one: Snowman looked like any other slaughter house horse to everyone other than Harry and his wife. They saw the big power grey horse and they saved him. Snowman was crazy at first but once he calmed down he was a champion.

Character two: harry was a Dutch immigrant around the time of World War 2. He went to the slaughter house and bought the horse( snowman) for 80 dollar and he transformed him from a spooky horse to the best jumping horse ever. The horse captured all the hearts of Americans and it was all thanks to Harry.

Theme: The overall story theme is an underdog story. Snowman went from being a slaughter house horse that was about to be killed and then he was transformed into a jumping horse and not any jumping horse he was the best ever.

Reading suggestions:

I think that anyone into horses and a true underdog story should read the book it shows that even if you come from a low spot that you ca still climb to the top.

The main characters of this novel are Apollo, the Greek God of the sun, who is characterised as cocky, arrogant, often awkward, and ignorant about the ways of mortals. He is often whiny and distressed, however through the novel he gains a further understanding of what being a mortal means, and he becomes more humble and less high-and-mighty.

The other main character is the young demigod daughter of Demeter, Margaret 'Meg' McCaffrey. She is brash, bratty, and very tough, often laughing at Apollo's misunderstandings of mortal affairs and his struggles. But when it comes to the nitty-gritty of things, she cares deeply about Apollo and refuses to leave him behind. She is treated as a little sister figure for the fallen god.

The theme of The Trials of Apollo is empathy, and learning to be human.

When Apollo is cast down, he loses his abilities for archery, yet at the end of the book, when he must take down Nero's Colossus to save the demigods, he manages to shoot the bow. The bow and arrow symbolises his empathy- he had none at first but when it mattered he was able to use it. I recommend this book to lovers of Greek Mythology, found family dynamics, and fast-paced action.

Lila and Hadley is a books about a young girl who is slowly going blind. Lila is a dog that she takes home from the pound. Hadley has had a hard few months. Her mom went to jail and she is having to live with her sister who she hasn't seen in seven years. Her sister pushes her to do things she doesn't want to do, like training Lila. Turns out she really likes Lila and they become close to each other.

Character Introductions:

Lila: A dog who is very shy and will only listen to Hadley. She a stubborn dog. When Hadley tries to show her sister what she has taught her Lila won't do it. She listens to Hadley and they accomplish things together.

Hadley: A very shy and independent girl who doesn't want other peoples help. She doesn't want to admit that she is losing her vision and it is going to get bad enough that she is going to need help.

Overall Theme & Importance:

The novel explores the theme of discovering true friendships, finding home, and the possibilities of forgiveness. Hadley went from not liking dogs to loving Lila. She also found a relationship with her sister and found a home at her house.

Examples of Literary Devices:

Symbolism: Hadley's white cane represents her indepences and her identity. It shows that she has expected that she is blind and she is going to have to get use to it.

Metaphor: When Lila begins to connect with Hadley they experience moments where Lila's emotional armor starts to show some signs of wear. Which leads to the metaphor "Cracks in the Armor."

Personifications: The memories that Lila has are said as "Memories as Weightly Chains" which means that her memories from her mom have a strong weight.

Recommendation:

I would highly recommend this books to people who like true story books that are put into fiction. It has a great theme, and it really touches the reader!

Scout Finch is the main character in the story, and is also the narrator. Scout believes in the wellbeing of her community, but as Tom Robinson's trial points out just how cruel some people are, she struggles to keep that same belief.

Bob Ewell is the father of the "rape victim." Bob was the one who accused Mr. Robinson of sexually assaulting his daughter. He is very evil in the sense that he is very racist.

The overall theme of this book is racial prejudice and innocence being lost. this is shown through the eyes of Finch, who has to see the people of her community turn into hateful people just because of the color of someone's skin.

One literary device used in the book is metaphors. in chapter 14 of To Kill a Mockingbird, Dill was described as a "filthy brown package." Another literary device used is personification. In page 5 Maycomb was described in the book as a "tired old town." One more literary device used are similes. In chapter 13, It is stated that alexandria "fit into Maycomb like a hand into a glove"

I would recommend this book to more sophisticated literary enthusiasts, but not for the general audience of book enjoyers.

4. The overall theme of this book is one of my favorite sayings, "grow through what you go through." The book talks about many of Anne's losses, struggles, and hardships, but also how Anne comes back stronger and wiser through it all. This demonstrates the impact of this lesson.

5. In chapter 5, page 31 states "my life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes." In chapter 15, page 93 states "the iron has entered into my soul." In chapter 2, page 18 states "listen to the trees talking in their sleep."

6. Overall, this book is an awesome book! I would recommend this to people who like old time themed books and likes to hear good, heartwarming stories of growth. I would also recommend this to people who like "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott.

The count is determined by the court of law as a supporter of the old regime. As a respected aristocrat, the count embraces his new life with patience and wit. Throughout his time at the hotel, he begins to meet and connect with the hotel staff, before exploring the secrets of the hotel.

2. Main Characters:

--Count Alexander Ilyich Rostov: A witty and calm man, used to enjoying a fine and expensive lifestyle. He appreciates all that is offered, and is consistent with his manners.

--Nina Kulikova: A young girl in the hotel, devoted to exploring the secrets and adventures life has to offer. Nina often visits the Count, begging him to accompany her on her adventures.

3. Theme

The theme of this novel is centered around the appreciation for simple pieces of life. Though the Count was unfairly stripped of all of title, belongings, and friends, he explored and appreciated what he was given. The Count's change in perspective allowed him to explore friendships with the hotel staff, and gain valuable insight on the world around him.

4. Quotes

"If a man does not master his circumstances, then he is bound to be mastered by them" (Towles, 67).

"It is of interest of times to change, Mr.Helecki. And it is the business of gentlemen to change with them" (Towles, 240).

5. Recommendation

After analyzing this novel, I would highly recommend it to any readers. The lessons within the writing push readers to surrender to a sense of tranquility throughout any situation. Regardless of how much is lost, the Count teaches readers to believe there is still more to be found.
