I have been interpreting a lot to have a realistic understanding of what actually “Academic Integrity” looks like since I joined the Australian Institute of Higher Education as being the independent college student. In a realistic world, people are generally copying in one or the other way from someone else subconsciously or even consciously. However, as per my understanding “Academic Integrity” means acting with the estimations of genuineness, trust, reasonableness, regard, and duty in learning. It is critical for students to act in a legit way, be in charge of their activities, and show decency in all aspects of their work.

Integrity in general states employing the right thing, even when no one is observing you. Therefore, acknowledging the honesty policies set forth by your respective college/ university are the responsibilities that every student should be aware of to employ academic integrity.

As a student in order to maintain academic integrity, we should do our own work even if it is meant to be a take-home exam. As a student, I should avoid plagiarism by making sure to follow referencing guide which will simply give credit to other people whose work I am taking as a source. To maintain academic integrity student should further refrain from cheating or breaching any rules that have been set throughout.

Following five fundamental values of academic integrity is essentially crucial as a student that are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility. The courage to act and implement these five values despite of any adversity are precisely elementary to the academy.Standards of academic integrity safeguards your career apparently as people will have trust in you, they will acknowledge and value your degree and contributes well to the society.

To employ these qualities of academic integrity I always completed my assignments independently, I never left my assignment for the last minute which enhanced me to do in numerous research and give credit to other works. Additionally, I never shared my assignments with anyone else neither I referred anyone’s assignment. I was always threatened by academic Integrity Violations as it will inhibit in owning high moral principles or professional standards.

In a nutshell, Academic integrity is the most significant principle of leadership and dependent on integrity because it resembles truthfulness and honesty of self. Therefore, I consider the qualities of academic integrity such as truthfulness, accountability, loyalty, vision, assertiveness, and responsibility are to be employed by every students and staff related with the organizations.

Ritesh Shankar BK
0452294611

The essense of integrity is to be honest and have strong moral principles. Academic integrity is not an advantage in a student's profile but a major part of it.
The attainment of a student's goal is successful only when he/she is dedicated to exploit his/her full potential as well as develop a set of ideals and principles for himself. There is no short-cut to success. Dishonesty while completing one's academic tasks will show good results on paper but when the moment of demonstrating the actual skill that was to be gained from the task, the student has nothing to show about it. That would mean that the student has come nowhere near to his goals. As Jawaharlal Nehru said, "Failure comes only when we forget our ideals, objectives and principles." When we can't work for our goal based on the principles of morality that we have developed and are actually righteous too, you may be able to submit an academic assignment to your teacher and appear good but deep down you know that you are only scamming yourself.
Similarly, every student's goal is to become a professional which everyone adores and wants to be like. As John Milton quoted "The child shows the man, as morning shows the day", when a student is ready to give his absolute honesty, dedication and ability to do the right thing on his academic work, you can tell he has the prospect to be a great professional as well as even a good leader when required.
Talking about the institution and the society that a student represents, a group can be only as good as its members. Both the institution and society are able to exist harmoniously based on the way they are represented by the people in front of the outside party. The whole world aspires to join an institution or a society that is well known for the integrity of its members. A place with no integrity to show in its members is never cherished. Thus, academic integrity is important.

Suvam Adhikari
180231
