Writers of prose and poetry use <strong>figurative language</strong> to elicit emotion, help readers form mental images and draw readers into the work.<br>A4 Both compare 2 unlike things, but a simile compares it using LIKE or AS.<br>A5 From similes and metaphors to hyperbole and personification, taking words beyond their literal meaning through the <strong>use</strong> of <strong>figurative language</strong> is enjoyable for both the<strong>writer</strong> and the reader.
