         <description><![CDATA[<div>The word "feudalism" was used by English lawyers of the 17th century as a designation of the type of property and as a socio-political term.&nbsp;</div><ul><li>In feudal relations, landowners (feudal lords) are lined up in the feudal ladders: the lower (vassal) receives for the service the land plot and dependent peasants from the superior (senor).</li><li><mark>At the head</mark> of the feudal ladder<mark> is the monarch</mark>, but his <mark>authority is</mark> usually&nbsp; <mark>weakened</mark> in comparison with the <mark>powers of the big seniors</mark>, who in turn do&nbsp; <mark>have absolute authority</mark> over all landowners standing below them in the feudal staircase (the principle "<strong><mark>my vassal's vassal is not my vassal</mark></strong> ", Which operated in many states of continental Europe).</li><li>The distinctive features of feudalism in Western Europe were a <mark>high degree of political decentralization</mark>, the dualism of secular and spiritual authorities, the <mark>specificity of the European city </mark>as a center of craft and trade, the early development of laws.&nbsp;</li><li>under feudalism there is a decline in state unity and a weakening of the centralizing supreme power: the territory of the state is fragmented and the state prerogatives fall apart, passing into the hands of the owners of these units (feudal fragmentation), the landowners become "sovereigns".</li><li><br></li></ul>]]></description>
