The people in the picture are all different races, come from different descents, and they are different genders. It also shows respectfulness. They are standing in front of a flag which shows how they respect their community.

Personally, I thought this was a perfect example of citizenship because not only does it fall under our list of 7 words which best describe citizenship , it falls under one of the most pressing topics ; Contribution to your community. Contribution to the community is not just donating money or helping someone with something , yet it can be represented in many different ways , specifically picking up trash. When someone goes out of their way to pick up trash it may seem like it does nothing to help the community its just one bottle. Yet, it's the idea that counts. That specific person contributed to trying to make their community better in even the smallest of ways. Contribution to the community along with the other 6 words are vital for a efficiently running community , and to keep that community safe , happy , and clean. In addition, in this school, students have the freedom to choose their electives, what they wear to school, and everyday decisions such as where they sit in the cafeteria and who they want to see that. I think this because going out of your way to assist and help others is positively benefiting and influencing those in your community. Although this contribution may only be helping some of the citizens, it is the idea of striving to help that makes a difference. When you are a good citizen, you may not get anything in return, but at least you know you helped someone. It is often a misconception that you have to do something significant in order to make a difference however, even the little gestures that you do can contribute. This includes picking up trash, helping a neighbor, or even volunteering. First of all, it shows unity because this monument isn't for one specific person but to Allendale as a whole. All the citizens of Allendale are classified as one collective, united group. Second of all, it shows respect because this monument is respecting all of the people living in Allendale. Thirdly, this image shows contribution to community because the whole town probably pitched in to make this monument. Also, the quote freedom lest be free means that people had to fight for our freedom, and these people had to endure so much to contribute to our happiness now. This image also shows equality because all the people in Allendale are equal, we all have different backgrounds and ideas, but we are all treated the same way, as citizens of Allendale. Second to last, this image shows diversity because the citizens of Allendale are all different, yet are all represented in this one monument. Lastly, this image shows loyalty because the people of Allendale are loyal to Allendale, and the people who fought for our freedom were loyal to our country.

It shows contribution because many residents of Allendale volunteered themselves, donated money, and dedicated time in to building this home for residents with special needs. This residency helps people with disabilities be more occupied and be helped when needed. Many citizens from Allendale worked together into making this a safe and comforting residency. In addition, many people from Allendale visit the residency to make crafts or do activities with the residents to make their day. For instance, the girl scout troop made Valentines crafts with the residents. Overall, a huge factor of citizenship is about people contributing to help others and by working together to make a comforting home for others, contribution is really shown.

A community where everyone helps everyone else out and is able to persevere through the toughest of times. But most importantly, this photo shows freedom. Freedom is the most important of everything because it’s the ability to choose in life. Without the ability to choose, we aren’t truly living. We need to be able to choose what we want to do instead of what we’re forced to do which makes freedom the most important of these traits. Even though this flag represents much more than Allendale, our small town of only 7000 people, this town still has freedom and everyone chooses to have freedom here.
