The main events happened on October 13, 2020, in Yarmouth County and Digby County, Nova Scotia. They have the peace and friendship treaty covering their land. In this treaty, it says that they can fish all they want and the British would not bother the first nations but they are getting hate for fishing off-season when the treaty says that they can fish all they want. This event is related to the issues in treaties I learnt about because in most treaties the colonizers don't honour the agreement. This isn't right because first of all, you are taking their land and then you make an agreement but then you don't honour the agreement. I think that the colonizers are judging the first nations people and thinking that they can't do anything about them not honouring their agreement. They said they could fish for a moderate livelihood but then they said that they could say that they can't fish either because of conservation or public interests. I think the conservation rule makes sense but the other rule makes no sense because they said they can fish but then they said they can't fish if the government chooses. Also, one thing that is debated is the term moderate livelihood, this is because moderate livelihood is different for each person, one person could think it means food and house with no extras and another person could think it was a house, car, food and extras. In conclusion, they are getting a lot of hate for what they should be able to do.
