"What is white privilege, really?"

This reading really shows how white people have it easier in society. For example, white people can walk right into a store and see makeup for their skin color. I think that it's tough for some white people to see how they might have it easier in society than people of other races. In the 1800s, racism seemed to be at its worst. Over the years, this country has gotten better with accepting people of different races. Nowadays, people aren't as rude towards others. There's still racist people out there, but society has improved over the years. https://drive.google.com/file/d/18IrnwWtFXTxFD2AY4nfGIeI6h2V1z30t/view

"Too many Americians think patriotism means racism and xenophobia"

This article talks about how terrorist attacks over the years lead people to think that people of different races or religions are out to do bad. After the attacks of 9/11, it seems like people were hated by society. This talks about how even law enforcement stripped them of their basic rights. This source is somewhat like the other one; "What is white privilege" talks about how its tougher for people of different races in society, and this reading shows how it is for them. https://www.thenation.com/article/too-many-americans-think-patriotism-means-racism-and-xenophobia/

"Most Americans Think Their Own Group Faces Discrimination"

In this article, it has a lot of polls about people and how others have experienced racism. It shows thinks like what percent of people have experienced abuse of power from police, racism in public, ect. This article also talks about how some people won't go and seek medical care because they fear of being discriminated against. Discrimination even goes to the level that some people won't go to get medical help because they fear that they will be discriminated against. Racism has gotten better over the years, however some people still experience it daily. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/10/24/559116373/poll-most-americans-think-their-own-group-faces-discrimination

Blackface

In this video, it talks about how "blackface" is long gone, and some people, who have no idea what it is try and take part. Blackface is a super racist and offensive form of entertainment from the 1800s. When these performances were going on, slavery was still a big issue in America. The book "Huck Finn" really shows how big of an issue this was. However, in these performances, the actors would "try and act like black people." With bad history of this as entertainment, nobody should be trying to being it back, however some people still decide to. I think this shows how some people nowadays might see being racist as "funny." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqlD-eZm1ck

"Why I as a black man, attend KKK rallies."

In this video, the man talks about how he experienced the KKK, and how he met with one of their leaders. He became friends with the leader over time, and they became comfortable with each other. Eventually, he started going to the rallies. He talks about respect and how that is what kept them as friends. The reason he attended these rallies was just to learn about racism. He wanted to know why it was a thing.I think that another issue is that some people think that they are better than others just because of their race. I think this relates to Huck Finn because Jim and Huck respect and trust each other despite their races.
