Like the time Yanek had his Bar mitzvah in a basement or when he snuck into the bakery at night with his uncle and aunt to bake bread. They were crying and remembering their struggles and hardships throughout their journeys. Once they were done eating Yanek got put to rest in one of the old capos' rooms. He was confused did he have to share? how do you make the bed? is this all for him? yanek felt so unsure and not quite right to be treated this well. He hadn't felt this in years.

quote- After being held captive for nearly six years, the war was over. They were set free from captivity.
