My older sisters Anna and Allie are very different. Anna is very quiet and great at everything she does, I have always looked up to her. My sister Allie and I have had a harder relationship because she can be difficult to get along with. Anna always inspired me to do well in school and work hard, I learned from Allies mistakes as well which made me want to stay on a good path and not repeat them. At every holiday there was always an abundance of cousins my age to play with. I think playing with my cousins is where I learned a lot of compromise. We all had strong personalities and wanted to do different things. We always came together and had a blast together. I also loved playing with my younger cousins and I thought it was so fun how younger people enjoyed and viewed the world. My mom always came home from work with great stories about her students and funny things that happened. I would love getting to go to work with my mom. My mom is so caring and loving to her students and it was so easy to see when I walked in the room. Students would always tell me how much they love my mom and all she does for them. This had a huge impact on me wanting to become a teacher. I loved watching the Disney channel. I especially liked the funny shows about family life. I think this is when I began to really enjoy comedy. I still love humor and funny TV shows. I think this was a great way for me to learn more about the world and how different people I would never be able to meet in the real world lived. This also made me anxious and worried that as a young girl I was not as pretty as many of the girls online. I think as a teacher I will be sensitive to this new age with my students. I was baptized as a baby, went to church every Sunday and even went to catechism Monday nights. I remember resenting this as a kid. I didn't want to go to church and felt like it was something I was forced to do. Now, as an adult I am not very involved in the Catholic church but still take with me some of the values it taught me. I believe to treat everyone with kindness, being generous, and forgiving others. I consider this a big part of my chronosystem because it shaped the time that I grew up in. I feel like my childhood was highly focused on fear and being patriotic. He was either really grumpy or happy and nice. My dad had a stressful job and it definitely affected my family. My parents always told me that it is important to follow the law but always listen to your conscious.
