Takeaways
1. I never realized that more people leave the field each year than enter it, but I'm not surprised.
2.I think funding is necessary but I don't know if it is compelling enough to make people stick with the work...it's a personality thing, not a professional thing...just my opinion.

They are precise and to the point, making the presentation easy to read. I also like the duct tape theme. 

Two takeaways: 1) Being a special education teacher sounds like a difficult job. The additional paperwork is surely an extra burden. Every student is on an IEP, which teachers take an active role in developing. They also need to individualize instruction to follow the IEP. 2) There is a changing structure within the school systems to accommodate for the increase in students diagnosed with Autism. 

One wonder: I wonder what would be the most efficient way to assist teacher in becoming certified in special education and in decreasing burnout.

You raised a great point with the lack of qualified special education teachers. I absolutely think this is an issue with education in general. There is a shortage of qualified, young teachers. In my opinion there are areas in general education, such as science and math, that are not on par with other countries educational systems in the world. Many of times, these countries offer higher benefits, more pay and job security. This makes working in education more appealing. I wonder if this model could be applied more in this country. It would certainly increase interest of students graduating from college, maybe deterring them from pursuing private sector jobs that are more lucrative and pursuing jobs within education. I liked your presentation, it was very easy to read and well presented

1). I like the fact that you mentioned the the unqualified teachers and the high turnover rate. I feel that in education that is something that is faced with in general. 
2.) With the amount of laws and paperwork more funding should be available to the special educators.

I wonder if they will ever find a balance between the funding and the burn out rate and attempting to decrease it.

1.  Right away learning that "40,000 teachers are not certified to teach special education" stuck out to me.  Also, not being taught by qualified people really complicates every students learning experience.

2.  I like the idea of ESSA but not all students learn that same way and that is why we need properly trained special education teachers.
