All the goodness I have is shrouded in darkness.

When I would do good darkness is in my thoughts;

I am not strong enough to carry the burden of a man.

I believed myself to be an ox but I am but a tangled lamb

I hesitate when it is my turn to make a move.

My weakness has brought me shame, and emboldened my iniquity.

How many times have I tripped over the same stone?

How many times have I turned aside the same doubts?

You are never weary in uprighting me.

One thousand falls and one thousand bruises

One thousand times though has picked me up and mended me.

I praise God almighty, may his name be forever exalted.

For there is an accuser who wearies not of his labor, but I have a savior who cannot be wearied.
