Although it takes place in places around the country like New York, it is not similar to my life. For example, Percy is the son of Greek god Poseidon and has special powers. He can use his powers to heal himself with water. 

Also, there are monsters that try to get Percy throughout the book and this could not happen in real life. An example is when Percy had to fight the Minotaur. A Minotaur is a monster that is not real.

However, it was a little like a mirror because the setting is mostly in the real world. For example, in the beginning of the story they start on a field trip in New York City in a museum. I have been to some museums in New York City. This books follows Percy, his best friend Grover, and Annabeth as they travel across the country in search of Zues' master lightning bolt. They have many adventures traveling on a train, bus, truck, and taxi as they try to find the stolen lightning bolt. They are in a race against time since they need to find it before the summer solstice. It is Percy's responsibility to get it back in time.

I highly recommend this book because they go different places and they fight monsters. The friends work together to try to get the master bolt.

I think I will continue to read books in this series after I am finished with this one.

Book 2 in the series is called Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters. Book 3 in the series is a called Percy Jackson and The Titan's Curse. Book 4 in the series is called  Percy Jackson and The Battle of the Labyrinth. 

All of these books are new to me because I am just starting this series. (2) Setting - The setting in this story changes as the characters travel across the country looking for Zues' lightning bolt. They start in New York and travel to Los Angeles. Before they start to go across he country they spend time in Camp Half-Blood. 

(3) Conflict - The conflict in the story is that Percy and his friends have to find Zues' master bolt which has been stolen. Percy is responsible for finding this lightning bolt since he is the son of Poseidon. He wanted to fit in with others but he couldn't.

(2) I was excited for Percy when he was able to kill the Minotaur.

But after starting it, it was not a book that I liked. So, I ended up changing to starting the Percy Jackson series. I started with Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. I usually read through my tutorial class, but I was not able to finish this book yet. 

I learned that as a reader I still like adventure books that also include fantasy. I like the main character Percy because he is just a boy, but has magic powers which make him special. I like the adventures that he takes with his friends. I think I am going to keep reading books in this series since it matches my reader identity.
