Children that come from working class backgrounds will not have the same motivation as middle class children to achieve good grades in school, in order to go on for further studies and jobs.

Working class families don't socialise their children adequately meaning they lack cultural equipment that they need to do well in their education. Working class children have that laid back attitude and they don't share the same school values as middle class children do to help them succeed in their education.

There is differences in the speech code, this gives middle class children an advantage because the teachers use the same code as them, it is seen as the right way of talking.
