Short summary of source material:

First, compare an economy where a CBDC bearing no interest is issued (i.e., cash) and compare the results to an interest-bearing CBDC. This would allow a comparison about the means of payment effect of a CBDC over interest- free cash. Second, another comparison would be an interest-bearing CBDC with an otherwise-identical economy where CBDC lacks the transaction-cost mitigating effect. This comparison would get at the store-of-value effect (for a retail consumer). Running these two experiments could bracket what is the most important use of a CBDC in this economy.
