I want to analyze this photo of prosocial behavior because it highlights something my mother would do all the time- donate food or meals to those in need. Now, I don’t know the people in this picture, but it’s depicting a possible sick, elderly couple receiving a crate of food. My mom is part of something called a meal train, or meals on wheels. Essentially, when someone in the surrounding area or someone in your church group, or school, is sick, has recently dealt with a death, or is pregnant, people in the community can make food and drop it off to help them out. This has always stuck out to me and has been something I’ve always looked up to in my mother. The selfless act of taking the time and money out of your day to create a meal for someone who needs it, just to help out, is inspiring and clearly inspires others to do the same. I think this is a perfect example of prosocial behavior because it is voluntary behavior that is deliberately meant to benefit someone else.
