         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><br>A small Japanese force on maneuvers near the Marco Polo Bridge wanted  to enter  the little border city of Wanping on the night of July 7, 1937, in order to search for one of their men.  The town's Chinese military declined and would not let the  Japanese in which led to a shot being fired  and the two sides broke into war . There were only four survivors  at the end, and 300 people dead or injured.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
