This is a classic. You can't go wrong, it sets the scene for the rest of the series and its a must watch if you want to watch the rest of the movies. Its not the best one out there, but its 100% a classic. Not too busy, and not trying to be anything its not.

This movie provides a summary of everything that came before but does not have a coherent claim, it really just restates the previous movies. A thesis should be well thought out and be defensible, this movie is neither and doesn't truly set the scene for anything, considering it is the end. It picks up in the middle of a story and doesn't have a clear beginning like how a thesis should set the stage.

This movie makes all it predecessors make sense. It provides commentary on the previous movies and evidence to why everything has turned out a certain way. It gets all 4 points because it has elements of everything, it creates a scene for the next two movies while closing the previous ones. Its consistently good and has a lot to unpack. We learn about Draco's background and the horcruxes, which adds depth to the movie as well as context for the first five films.

The Goblet of Fire is unlike every other movie in the Harry Potter series. It is the most memorable and the plot unfolds so smoothly and eloquently you can't help but fall in love and admire the storytelling. The other movies are elite, but the fourth movie is able to have more interesting details and subplots like information on mermaids and Hagrid's romance, allowing it to earn the title of sophistication.

To earn sophistication, the movie would have to elaborate on the plots instead of just creating generalizations. Unfortunately, this movie creates generalizations by dialing down most of the plot, like rushing through Dobby's death. The events of the plot also do not advance the plot. In the movie, Dobby is more of a side character, so his death feels boring and unnecessary. The movie feels too long, and the only relevant things that occur are Voldemort gaining the Elder Wand and the destruction of Slythrin's locket.

This movie definitely will get points for providing evidence to support the claims previously mentioned. It shows the connection that Harry and Voldemort had between one another, and how they discover the prophecy about the inevitable future. It wouldn't get the full 4 points, however, because it doesn't fully explain how this evidence is actually necessary for the plot. Sure, one would be able to infer why these specific pieces of evidence are important, but it isn't explicitly explained in the movie. This is similar to when an essay quotes evidence to further their claim, but they don't do a well enough job explaining how supports their line of reasoning.

The Prisoner of Azkaban does not provide that much specific and relevant evidence. It explains who Sirius Black is and how Scabbers the rat was actually Peter Pettigrew, but that's about it. The content of the movie really didn't enhance the plot of the entire series. The audience also doesn't even understand why Peter Pettigrew is important until the next movie, meaning Prisoner of Azkaban did a pretty poor job doing so. Overall, the evidence provided was unimportant and the movie didn't explain why the evidence relates to the initial claim about figuring out how to defeat Voldemort. While the feeling of it being a Harry Potter movie is definitely there, it really doesn't advance the storyline all that much.

Can we even call this a Harry Potter movie? The Cursed Child barely even restates what occurred in prior movies, only mentioning the main casts' life now. There is potential, but does not thoroughly explain how time travel (the center of the movie) occurs. The movie feels opinion based and inspired by a hypothetical of Harry Potter in the future. However, there is barely any plot and does not address the prompt of making children fall in love with the whimsical wizarding world and giving them new information on Hogwarts or Harry Potter.

The Chamber of Secrets has all the classic features of a Harry Potter movie. However, it only gives a small amount of evidence that supports the claim. For example, in this movie Harry finds out who Tom Riddle is, he discovers he can speak parseltongue, and he actually destroys a horcrux (without knowing at the time). These small things are really the only important parts of the movie. The only thing is the audience doesn't know why these parts were really significant until basically the 6th movie. If this were an essay, it would need to add more context as to why this movie supports the thesis of the entire series.
