Report from Carer's Trust Published in September 2024 - Caring and Classes: the education gap for young carers

The report from a study conducted by the Carer’s Trust has been released for public use. Statistics within it reflect an increase in school absences as well as an increase in young carers feeling unsupported in school. Schools also report feeling like there is not enough support for YC and a call to action by government is in the works.

This report evidences the need for more schools to become involved in the YCiS Award programme and for greater links between families, schools and community services.
