The overall message of the song is that fame isn't as glamorous as it seems, and having your life in a spotlight is damaging to your personal life. One example of logos in the lyrics is "Until its Vegas everywhere we are." Here Kanye uses logos to describe his life and being famous by using this metaphor about his life. When he mentions Vegas being everywhere he is, he is saying that the paparazzi and fans follow him everywhere and it feels like he can't get a break from the fame. Another example is "If you want it you can get it for the rest of your life." This line is about fame and Kanye is saying that if you want to be famous you can, but fame doesn't go away. He is trying to warn people who want to be famous about the fact that you can't escape it after you become famous. The line "Want you to see all of the lights" is a perfect representation of what the song is trying to do. By "lights" Kanye means the spotlight of fame, and how everything you do is made public when you are famous. The line "I slapped my girl, she called the feds" might seem strange at first, but looking into the line it is evident that this line is actually a great metaphor. Here Kanye appeals to emotion by describing his personal life as domestic abuse. When he says "I slapped my girl" he is referencing the 2009 VMAs. His "girl" here is Taylor Swift and by slapped he means when he stole the microphone from her at the VMAs. She had just won "Best female music video", and during her acceptance speech, Kanye said that Beyonce should have won. This controversy still affects Kanye to this day and this line ties into fame because one incident can be inflated and can ruin a career. Another use of pathos in Kanye's lyrics is "She need her daddy/ Baby please,." This verse appeals to emotion by using the metaphor of his music being his daughter. He wants to just work on his music, but fame won't allow it. Kanye also uses pathos in the line "I tried to tell you but all I could say is oh." What Kanye means here is that he has been trying to tell people that being famous isn't glamorous, but his point hasn't been getting across, hence this song. The emotional appeal here is that Kanye is frustrated and he is just desperate to get his point about fame across to the public.
