         <description><![CDATA[<p>Claim: Intellectual concepts of free will can vary enormously, but there seems to be a fairly universal  </p><p>gut belief in the concept starting at a young age. </p><p>Evidence: Experimental philosophers  </p><p>have discovered by querying adults in different cultures, including Hong Kong, India,  </p><p>Colombia and the United States. Whatever their cultural differences, people tend to reject the  </p><p>notion that they live in a deterministic world without free will.</p><p>Strengths: They did the experiment in various places with multiple people.</p><p>Weaknesses: Since it is a big research, errors might have happened if there is some kind of misunderstanding between researchers </p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>John Tierney suggests that denying free will provides the ultimate excuse to behave as one likes. The author gives an example of people being irresponsible and “goofy” in their jobs then blaming it on the determinist universe. The strengths of the argument are that the author can support it with scientific evidence and he attempts to appeal to logic. However, he is biased at a pro-liberalist view and attempts to positively represent his views even though his sample is limited. Therefore, he can be considered correct scientifically but his comments on the studies are not reliable and perhaps not accurate enough.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br/></p><p>Ayça and Efe</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Claim 1</strong>: </p><p>Belief in free will leads to a greater life satisfaction, more energy, and better work performances. </p><p><strong>Evidence:</strong></p><p>The study done by Dr.Vohs along with the team of psychologists led by Tyler F. Stillman: questionnaires.</p><p><strong>Strengths:</strong></p><p>The higher the workers scored on the scale of belief in free will, the better their ratings on the job.</p><p><strong>Weaknesses:</strong></p><p>None of these factors is a reliable predictor of their actual performance on the job, as rated by employee’s supervisors.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Claim 2:</strong></p><p>The belief of free will is recognised universally, regardless of the culture context.</p><p><strong>Evidence:</strong></p><p>Experiment of querying adults in different cultures, such as Hong Kong, India, Colombia, and the United States.</p><p><strong>Strengths:</strong></p><p>Experiments were held in many different countries, so they are not attached to one specific culture. Consequently, international consensus provides more reliability that the existence of free will is present. </p><p><strong>Weaknesses: </strong></p><p>The lack of information about the country list, which is overgeneralised idea. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

The fact that these workers are day-labor employees might have affected the study.</p>]]></description>
