After Concordia, I spent 1 year living in Tunisia, North Africa teaching English. In N.Africa, I met several American and British physicians and nurses working for mission teams and developed an interest for mission work! 
While in school. I am working as a toddler room teacher in a Brainerd childcare center. I have had many different opportunities in my LPN carrier. 
Med/Surg was my favorite floor to work and I was there for 3 years. I worked mainly on the neuro floor taking care of strokes, back surgery to include lumbar drain. I also did ortho, chest tube, detox, psych holds, peritoneal dialysis, and many more. 
I am married to the most amazing women ever. I originally got my start in healthcare 13 years ago when I took my EMT-B certification and my CNA certification. I worked at Essentia health for 5 years in the ED along with working part time at a couple nursing homes as a CNA for a few years. Eventually I thought I might like a change in career fields. Growing up in a family full of nurses I felt there might be something I was missing by not exploring other options. After trying a few new careers and just not finding a good fit I found myself working as a chiropractic therapist which I also loved and this made me realize my passion was in healthcare all along. So here I am returning to school to become an RN. I am now back at Essentia working as a CNA in the float pool. I live in Little Falls with my husband and our 3 (soon to be 4) children. I love my job and the people I work with, but I've always regretted not going to college. I've always had an interest in (and deep admiration of) the medical field, so here I am, at 44! In addition to working at the group home and having an in-home client, I've subbed at school for paras and the secretary, and I had an Etsy shop. (I'm looking forward to having a job that allows me time for hobbies instead of just side hustles.)

My favorite people are here in my picture: my kids are 16 and 20. I don't know what I did to deserve to be their mama, but I'm glad I did it. :)
