This week, we organized a seminar and event on "e-Security" with our middle school students. The seminar emphasized the importance of security in the digital world, and discussed the protection of personal information, methods for creating strong passwords, and precautions that can be taken against cyber threats. Students had the opportunity to learn that using the internet safely is not only an individual but also a social responsibility. In addition, theoretical information was concretized with interesting visuals and case studies during the seminar. This allowed our students to show more interest in the subject and to participate actively. In the event section, an interactive "e-Security Awareness Competition" was organized for our students. In the competition, they worked in groups on making the right decisions by solving scenarios related to cyber threats. They also discussed how to ensure security in the digital world by creating their own security plans. This process supported students not only to be informed, but also to gain the ability to apply what they learned to their daily lives. The feedback we received at the end of the event increased our motivation to organize such activities more frequently. (Bu hafta ortaokul öğrencilerimizle "e-Güvenlik" konulu bir seminer ve etkinlik düzenledik. Seminerde, dijital dünyada güvenliğin önemi vurgulanarak, kişisel bilgilerin korunması, güçlü şifre oluşturma yöntemleri ve siber tehditlere karşı alınabilecek önlemler ele alındı. Öğrenciler, interneti güvenli bir şekilde kullanmanın, sadece bireysel değil, toplumsal bir sorumluluk olduğunu öğrenme fırsatı buldu. Ayrıca, seminer sırasında ilgi çekici görseller ve örnek olaylarla teorik bilgiler somutlaştırıldı. Bu, öğrencilerimizin konuya daha fazla ilgi göstermesini ve aktif katılım sağlamasını sağladı.

Etkinlik kısmında ise, öğrencilerimiz için interaktif bir "e-Güvenlik Farkındalık Yarışması" düzenlendi. Yarışmada, siber tehditlerle ilgili senaryolar çözerek doğru kararlar verme üzerine grup çalışmaları yaptılar. Ayrıca, kendi güvenlik planlarını oluşturarak dijital dünyada güvenliğin nasıl sağlanacağını tartıştılar. Bu süreç, öğrencilerin sadece bilgilenmesini değil, aynı zamanda öğrendiklerini günlük yaşamlarına uygulayabilme becerisi kazanmalarını da destekledi. Etkinlik sonunda aldığımız geri bildirimler, bu tür çalışmaları daha sık düzenleme motivasyonumuzu artırdı.)

Students of Gymnasio Skalas participated in activities for Safer Internet Day, aiming to raise awareness about the responsible and safe use of the internet. Through discussions, presentations, and interactive tasks, they explored topics such as online privacy, cyberbullying, and digital protection.

This experience was even more meaningful as it was part of our participation in the eTwinning project "AI & I Learn Math", giving students the opportunity to connect their learning about internet safety with their broader collaboration with peers from other countries. It encouraged critical thinking, safe digital habits, and strengthened their role as active members of a European learning community.
