After completing my degree in physics, I worked together with my husband Pierre with dangerous radioactive materials. During this time, I discovered two new elements that had never been known before. For my amazing discoveries and work in science, I became the first woman ever to win a Nobel Prize. A few years later, I went on to win a second Nobel Prize, something no one else in the world had ever achieved.

I worked hard trying to discover how science could help doctors. I conducted a lot of research and discovered certain materials that emit invisible rays, which contributed to the development of X-ray machines. I invented and led special vehicles to bring X-ray machines to the battlefields during World War I. I also installed 200 fixed radiographic stations that treated over a million wounded soldiers. Additionally, I discovered an element called radium to help cure sick people.
