         <description><![CDATA[<div>This article states that there is as much support for the idea that pets are good for our health as there are contradictory claims that pets have no long-term or actually have adverse effects on our health. The research done on this topic is not scientifically rigorous enough to be convincing. A 2008 study by the National Institutes of Health on human-animal relationships was done in conjunction with Mars, whose products include pet food, so it is likely the results are biased towards the positive impact pets have on our health.</div>]]></description>
