Developing the digital literacy skills of teachers is critical in creating an environment where disruptive learning can take place. School administration and staff can take the lessons being taught to raise the level of learning by implementing technology and innovative practices to help students become more engaged from social studies to algebra by allowing students to implement the skills they learn in their lessons to using technology to solve real world problems. A couple years ago I made a change from a traditional classroom to a blended learning classroom. The disruptive innovation is truly disruptive from traditional practices but the students are more engaged in the learning process and I have the opportunity to move throughout my room and help more students that I had the ability to do before. The world around us is changing and our schools need to keep up with those changes. Our students do not need the industrialized education because this is not the world in which they have grown up in and now live. Schools need to develop a 21st century program that will allow students to be successful in higher education and the communities with which they live.
