Personalized instruction for all subjects and provides immediate feedback.

For ixl, I think 1st grade is an appropriate age due to the ELA standards starting to get into difficult literacy concepts. For example, long vowels concepts can be difficult because they were taught the short sound in tk and k. Ixl has 206 skills, 108 videos, and 27 games on each literacy concept in 1st grade. The students also get to practice after they watch a video.

IXL adapts to each student's level, providing tailored practice that meets individual needs and promotes growth. Students receive instant corrections and explanations, helping them understand mistakes and reinforcing learning. The platform offers comprehensive skill coverage, allowing students to practice specific ELA areas like grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing. Students can see their progress and set goals, fostering ownership of their learning. Teachers new to IXL may need time and professional development to use the platform effectively. Some students may find repetitive practice monotonous without differentiated support.

Technology like IXL meaningfully engages all students in ELA content by offering personalized, interactive learning experiences that adapt to each student's skill level. This individualized approach ensures that students work on content that is neither too easy nor too difficult, keeping them motivated and challenged appropriately. For struggling students, the technology provides scaffolded support through immediate feedback and clear explanations, helping them understand errors and learn correct language usage. The platform’s varied ELA exercises covering vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing allows targeted practice to strengthen specific literacy skills.
