In this project, my job was to interview the fashion designer (who is Patrick) I did research on past interviews with people in similar situations. For example, fashion week, MTV videos and high end catwalk interviews. As I haven't in my career yet interviewed someone specifically on fashion I thought that it would be a good idea to understand their trends and how the Australian fashion industry could be more accepting by incorporating traditional Chinese aspects in Western Culture. I three questions and avoided ones that would simply just give me yes or no answers. I wanted the documentary as made, shot and edited by Lewis to be in-depth and for the audience to really get a feel for Patricks personal style as a designer.

As a journalist I know its important not to just ask 'yes' or 'no' answer questions.

I thought that in Western culture there a lot of stereotypes surrounding their fashion choices so I decided that it would be interesting to address them so that others in society can understand that their is much more depth to their designs.

The first question I asked was:
 Do you think Chinese fashion designs are generally considered conservative? I thought as an introductory question it would be good to understand Patrick's perspective as a fashion designer on a stereotype that Chinese clothing and designs are considered  traditionalist and in many ways unprogressive.

2. Do you as a designer rebel against stereotypes that Chinese fashion is purely old-school?
I wanted to hear and understand Patrick personals style as a designer. I really wanted to know what it meant also to 'rebel' For example, what is considered extravagant? where is the line drawn between socially and culturally acceptable and 'rebellious?'

3. How do you think Chinese traditions should integrate into Western fashion trends? I was noticing while researching fashion that the only stores that incorporated Chinese fashion trends and Chinese cultural aspects were high end designers like Gucci. I thought to myself why is it only upper class people that have access to Chinese trends in the west. This is why I decided to ask Patrick this question. I was also curious about how Patrick thought you could incorporate Chinese culture into Western culture as most clothing in countries like Australia and Britain aren't very 'out of the box' or 'unique.'
