Emilia

My name is Hélène, I’m 46 years old, and I’m a French pedagogical advisor. I’ve been a primary school teacher for over 20 years.

I currently live on Réunion Island, where I’ve been working for several years. Before that, I had the opportunity to live and work in Mayotte, which was a very enriching experience both personally and professionally.

Outside of my professional life, I’m passionate about freediving, and hiking. I also practice theatre, these activities help me stay active, creative and connected to nature.

In my district, I’m in charge of the life skills (psychosocial skills) program, a subject that is very important to me.

I’m really happy to be with you in May.

I’m looking forward to learning and sharing with all of you during this training.

My name is Lida and I come from the island of Cyprus. I am 43 years old and I have been a primary school teacher for 20 years. This year I am teaching in 3rd grade. I have studied in Greece and the UK, where I had my Masters degree in Theatre in Education. I love everything that is related to the Arts, especially theatre and dance! I also enjoy being in the nature and swimming. I love travelling and meeting new cultures. This is my first time enrolling to an Erasmus seminar and I am really looking forward to it! One of my main interests in Education is self development and social skills. My expectations from this course is to learn how a person, adult or child, can achieve resilience in life in order to live a happy life!

I’ve got quite a few passions like hiking, reading, foreign languages, having looong breaks at a terrace after walking for hours in big cities, learning about all sorts of things but the thing I prefer most is pastry. The taste of it of course is very important, along with sharing, less the kilos it brings but most of all, it’s the preciseness and the concentration that I like about it when I'm baking. You forget about everything around you… except for the part when you have to clean...

This topic that we’re going to tackle in Helsinki is a first for me and I really look foward to discovering it. For me, Helsinki is the place to go to if you want to work on such topics as resilience and well-being…

I'm a trained engineer in the Lyon region of France. Before that, I was a middle school biology teacher. I'll be a national education inspector next year, and I'd like to expand my knowledge of psychosocial skills to better support teachers. Outside of work, I enjoy Pilates, badminton, and hiking. I'll be joining four colleagues during this training. It's a great pleasure to meet you and share our experiences while having the chance to discover Helsinki!

I'am 54 years old.

I’am a training manager at the rectorate of Lyon in France. I’am a therapist and REIKI teacher outside work. I like to cook and entertain my friends and family. I’also enjoy gardening which allows me to escape mentally and after that i like to relax on a deck chair.

I look forward to learning and sharing with all of you during this training in Helsinki and discovering the city.

My name is Irantzu, I´m 38 years old and I live in Basque Country (in the north of Spain).

I have been teaching Economics and Training and Career Guidance for the last 5 years to students who are 16 years old and older. Before that, during 10 years, I was working for some companies in Human Resources department.

Personally, I like doing sports like body balance, yoga or rise mountains to be in contact with the nature. Apart from that, I love coocking and travelling around the world.

Seems that we are going to be a nice group. Looking forward to meeting you soon and learn about resilience together!

My name is Séverine. I'm 49 years old

I come from France.

I'm a training manager at the Ministry of Education.

On my days off, I like to cook, join friends for a drink , go to the theatre, the cinema.

I also enjoy going to temporary exhibitions at the museum.

As soon as I get the chance, I go to the seaside to recharge the batteries with my family.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing our views and experience.

I'm Emmanuelle. I'm 51 years old and I teach preschool for children between the age of 4 and 6.

Like Hélène, I live on Réunion Island.

I enjoy hiking in our beautiful mountains. Finlande wil be such a change of scenery !

With the curriculum reform in our country, new support offices for teachers were established. This change inspired me to return to the field of education after 15 years of working as a project coordinator and manager at a university. I felt a strong inner calling to do work that is more meaningful and connected to people – and for me, that meant coming back to the world of schools and teachers.

In my current role, I design and lead professional development courses for educators. My main focus is on activating teaching methods, the coaching approach in education, and creating spaces for reflection and growth. About four years ago, I also became a certified coach, which has deeply influenced the way I accompany teachers in their development – as a coach and as a mentor.

I teach English to very young learners and also lead religious education classes at the primary school.

I love reading and supporting people. I can’t wait to meet you all!

I like to contribute to developing teaching and educational practices to create more fulfillment and well-being, both for students and teachers. So I'm excited to learn more about resilience.

In my free time, I like to connect with the beautiful nature of Reunion Island where I practice yoga and hiking. I also like travelling and discovering other cultures and am delighted to meet you soon.

My name is Sophie, and I’ve been a primary school teacher since… 1989 (yes, some of you weren’t even born yet — and that’s just fine!). I’ve taught every grade from kindergarten to the last year of elementary school, in urban schools, rural schools, special education classes — and I’ve even been a headteacher, just to keep things interesting.

Today and for the past 17 years, I have been working on Reunion Island as Hélène and Marie Laure.

My greatest pride is being a teacher trainer. I work with both new and experienced teachers (both full of energy, of course), and I learn just as much as I teach every day.

I’m really happy to take part in this seminar on psychosocial skills. Learning, sharing, discovering new practices in a dynamic (and slightly chilly) atmosphere — what more could I ask for?

With Celtic roots from Brittany, I’m used to galettes, cider, and salted butter… but I’m more than ready to discover what the North has to offer!
