2) These stories are important to the cultures of the indigenous people that perpetuate them. They explain how and why they must respect the environment and how the environment helps them in return. Clans and their animal spirits relate to this because the animal spirit is believed to protect all of the people in its clan.

2) The most historically significant confederacies include those of the Iroquois / Haudenosaunee and the Northwestern Confederacy. The Haudenosaunee leagues existed as a diplomatic decentralized league that promoted peace between five tribal nations. When colonizers arrived it became known as a confederacy. The Northwestern confederacy formed in an attempt to resist westward movement of American colonists. 2) This word wasn't born or recognized till after WW2 after the attempted genocide of Jewish people during WW2 meaning that it took hundreds of years till the mass murders of indigenous people where given a name.
3)This term is important because many Indigenous groups of the Americas, of the places where we live in now, were killed by the masses weather by disease or through war. The countless battles fought by the colonizers and the indigenous people of the land lead to the genocide of dozens to hundreds of indigenous groups.

2) This word connects to our unit because we are discussing the original inhabitants of the land where we live in now, on the land that was stolen from them and it connects to our unit because Indigenous people still haven't received back the land they are entitled to 
3) this word is essential because it proves that there is still ongoing injustices against indigenous people.
