As the US election draws closer it is important to be aware of the stances our options take on environmental issues. One large issue that has been taking a role in this election is the problem of climate change. Clinton recognizes it as an urgent threat whilst Trump continues to believe it is a hoax. Even from a non biased standpoint, Clinton is the better environmental option.

Many puffins have been dying in the Bering Sea since October. Why is this? The sea has been unnaturally warm. This destroys the food source of many other animals in the area causing their deaths as well. It is still unknown how much of this is due to climate change. Scientists are currently studying and researching the situation for a broader understanding.

Many two headed sharks have been found recently. The phenomenon is most common in bull sharks as they can carry up to 50 babies. It is currently unknown as to what causes the mutation but it is most probably a genetic deformity. Some say over fishing may be a cause as it limits the gene pool. Scientists are further studying the sharks found in order to understand more.

A 6.6 earthquake on Sunday morning took place near Rome causing a lot of damage but no deaths. The earthquakes recently have been damaging the fault. This can cause more frequent earthquakes which can be problematic for Europe. The danger focuses in Italy and western Greece along with some parts of western Asia. Scientists are observing the faults for any further information.

San Francisco is now required to have a certain amount of buildings with "green roofs". This is a requirement to grow plants above the rooflines and its purpose is to further help the planet. Not only is it incredibly aesthetic but it also helps with issues such as runoff, air quality, and the urban heat island effect. The city also gives an alternative of installing solar panels which can also help the environment.

Using 1970 population levels, conservation groups have determined that 58% of animal populations will be lost mainly due to human activity. The most loss will take place in lakes and rivers. Part of this is also caused by issues with climate change. Although the situation seems grave, there is still hope that people can change courses and try and help as much as they can.
